In Northwest Portland, there is a little yellow building in which Le Happy Crêperie & Bar resides. This restaurant has stuck out to me since I first saw it when I moved to that neighborhood in 2016. As the years have gone by and the neighborhood changes, fancy apartments have gone up and the little yellow building remains. As an homage to them, I refreshed the logo and menus as a personal design exercise.
My first step in this brand refresh was to make an adjustment to the logo itself. The wordmark is featured on the front of the building, so I didn't want to make a drastic change to it. I tweaked some elements such as bringing the "Le" script element up in weight and increasing the height to match that of the "HAPPY" portion.
